Pembentukan klompok B.Band ini dicatat pada serial televisi Dokumenter Big Bang, dari Juli hingga Agustus 2006 yang disiarkan online pada GomTV dan di MTV Korea .
awalnya BIG BANG memilik 6 member, 1 anggota, Jang Hyunseung (sekarang anggota B2ST/BEAST),tapi dia dieliminasi selama menayangkan acara sebelum debut resmi
yang mengarah ke mereka saat ini line-up.
YG Entertainment menandatangani kotrak Big Bang merilis single sukses dan beberapa EP. Rilis pertama mereka, EP "Always" (2007), menelurkan nomor satu "Lies" (Korea: 거짓말). Masalah tindak lanjut EP panas dan Stand Up sama-sama sukses.
Pada akhir tahun 2009, Big Bang menjadi artis paling dicari di Korea Selatan
Mereka juga menjadi kelompok asing pertama di Jepang untuk menerima Penghargaan Penyiaran Kabel Jepang untuk "Best Newcomer", dan yang pertama dari Korea untuk menerima penghargaan Jepang Rekaman .Dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, anggota harus bercabang keluar untuk melakukan kegiatan solo: Taeyang dan G-Dragon telah merilis materi solo yang sementara TOP, Daesung dan Seungri sudah mulai bertindak..

Big Bang’s Taeyang eats lunch with an “old friend”
Big Bang’s Taeyang has revealed a picture of himself with his old friend’ G-Dragon.
On July 31st, Taeyang tweeted,“I’m having lunch with my old friend at ABIKO :) It’s my first time at ABIKO.. It’s really tasty!!“Taeyang and G-Dragon went out to eat at a curry restaurant in Korea. Since the two are top fashionistas in the idol world, their natural and innocent appearances have gathered much attention.
Fans commented, “Did you eat a delicious lunch?“, “Have a good time with Jiyong-oppa!“, and “It’s so good to see the two of you together“.
For those of you who may not know, before there was GD&TOP or even Big Bang, there was ‘GDYB’. GDYB consisted of G-Dragon and Taeyang (Young Bae), and they were a youngster rap duo under YG Entertainment. Here are a couple videos for ol’ times sake.
Big Bang’s Seungri posts a video of T.O.P & Taeyang eating snow in New Zealand
On July 31st, maknae Seungri uploaded a hilarious one-minute video onto his me2day, documenting the goofy antics of his bandmates who were waiting on the snowy mountaintops of Queenstown.
The video starts off with Seungri panning the beautiful view of the Southern Alps and the lake down below, before focusing the camera on himself.
He briefly shouts about how cold it is, before swinging the camera towards T.O.P.
Seungri then laughs hysterically when the rapper shoves his face into a handful of snow in an attempt to drink “water”, and even feeds Taeyang while he’s at it.
